Genium is an innovative, full-service creative agency with an impeccable track record of delivering outstanding outcomes to diverse clients spanning the commercial, public, private and social sectors.

An encounter between Martin and Shimon – two creative spirits from the worlds of film and design – resulted in the founding of their collective dream – an agency dedicated to communicating overarching branding solutions. Genium was born from a passion for worthwhile causes and exciting products. The pair embarked on combining their talents to build and grow an agency dedicated to visualising unique, captivating, and powerful messages.

  • Martin Kerem

    Director and Founding Partner

    Martin is a multi-award-winning director and producer of documentaries; children’s TV; dramas; corporate films and commercials, whose creativity and passion led him to set up Genium. With invaluable experience and a unique vision, gleaned from working on a multitude of prestigious projects for the BBC and Discovery Channel, Martin is dedicated to communicating the message and values of organisations, products and brands.

  • Shimon Speigel

    Creative Director and Founding Partner

    As co-founder of Genium, Shimon has over 20 years hands-on creative experience with 3 London agencies and marketing consultancies. Creating award-winning projects, Shimon built a reputation for evoking emotions and telling stories through crafted design, photography and film. He has created campaigns, brand solutions and guidelines for many high profile clients including Hilton and Tesco, and consistently delivers exceptional results for Genium’s clients.

  • Lara Cooper

    Marketing & Strategic Communications

    Lara has over 16 years of experience in marketing and communications. Following her degree in Experimental Psychology from Oxford University, Lara was a graduate trainee at advertising agency Bates UK, moving on to the Central Office of Information (COI) to run high-profile government campaigns. Lara was Campaigns Director at Media Trust, and a strategic communications advisor within the Department for Education and the Department of Health.

  • Ollie Brown


    Ollie is an exceptional graphic designer with a creative flair and a meticulous eye. He has a passion for new media and print and his background in screen print and illustration brings a fresh perspective to every project. In addition to working for Genium, he runs a screen print studio and directs workshops for underprivileged young people. Ollie loves nature and when he’s not in his studio, he can be found hiking, climbing or camping.

  • Nuno Sarmento

    Web Developer

    Nuno has been studying web development since 2009 and develops in both C# and PHP. Nuno is experienced in both front and back-end development, and is proficient in HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, LESS, SASS, XML, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, and SQL/MySQL/PostgreSQL, to name a few. Nuno is also proficient in many non-web-based languages, including but not limited to Java, C, Objective C, and Assembly. He has also worked on some smaller Python projects, and has used the language to create one-time use tools for data processing and similar purposes.

  • Alex Mallinson

    Motion Graphic Animator

    Alex is a CG artist and animator with 14 years’ experience in compositing; video game graphics; digital illustration; photography and graphic design. He created the effects for an award-winning Cannes Cyber Gold Lion viral advert, and built the memorable BBC2 Tesco Invasion of Denmark sequence for Armando Iannucci’s Time Trumpet. He has created animations and imagery for the BBC; Channel 5; MTV; Sega; Sony and Timberland, amongst others.

  • Sharon Lyons


    Sharon has extensive corporate experience and has worked across various sectors including over 10 years at PWC, managing, training and organising international clients. Sharon has a BSc (Hons) in Information & Communications, and her IT background as a web designer and developer, and a Global Web Trainer, allows her to keep a trained eye on every project at Genium. Sharon’s downtime is rare – but she tries hard to fit in her hobbies, cooking and yoga.
